2005 - Appointed by Governor as Fourth Congressional District Representative on the Mississippi Real Estate Commission. The district covers tweleve counties and most of three others in Mississippi's southernmost congressional district. He is only the fifth person to serve in Mississippi's southernmost congressional district since the Real Estate Commission came into existence in 1954. His term began July 1, 2005 and will end in 2009.
Married for 32 years to Pamela Cumbest. Two sons, Grant and Reid.
